ITG air panel filter

On 19 November 2009 the Corsa was taken to Thorney Motorsport for a stage 2 engine remap. An ITG air panel filter was fitted.

The reasoning behind the decision to fit this ITG air panel filter is given below.

ITG air panel filter - Corsa VXR Racing

Extract from information posted on the Thorney Motorsport website as to why the ITG air panel filter is recommended...

We're not big fans of induction kits and "performance" filters on the Corsa VXR engine (or the Astra VXR, Astra G or VX220 Turbo for that matter) but after extensive development with ITG we've actually come to create one we actually think works. The ITG filter (which is exlusive to Thorney Motorsport) is made of G60 foam which is the same type used in BTCC race cars - this stuff works. We've been running this type of filter in the race BMW's and Vauxhalls for some time and there is a clear benefit in throttle response, especially when compared with a paper filter with a few miles on it

We won't quote daft increases in bhp as frankly they are spurious at best but the ITG filter will provide an improved throttle response and enhanced engine protection especially on a modified car.

Note: In July 2010 TMS introduced their own range of Competition Panel Filters for the Corsa VXR, made from their own blend of high quality G60 foam (as used in their race cars and the BTCC)
