Introducing my Corsa VXR Racing vehicle and its development programme
Welcome to my personal website which documents the development and tuning of my Vauxhall Corsa VXR Racing car from its standard factory built specification aiming to finally achieve a 300+ bhp highly tuned road going vehicle.
Within these web pages I will detail the work carried out, from race developed engine power increases, handling and braking enhancements, which I believe will produce the best Corsa VXR possible for road and track use.
My Corsa is one of a total of 888 vehicles to be built by Vauxhall to celebrate their racing success in BTCC. This Corsa VXR Racing edition has the colour scheme to replicate that of the BTCC racing cars livery.
To review the original specification of the VXR racing Corsa why not visit the official Vauxhall VXR website. On this website you will find out everything you need to know about the VXR Racing Corsa in its original guise - which will save me the time and effort of duplicating the information here. Suffice to say, after driving the Corsa it was immediately apparent there was a lot more to be gained both in terms of raw engine power and overall road handling and driveability.
My Corsa was first registered in July 2009 and after a suitable period of running in and enjoying the car's agile performance I set about the task of finding a suitable company to carry out the performance upgrades I envisaged I wanted.
After much searching for what information the internet had to offer I decided to contact Thorney Motorsport. Thorney Motorsport are one of the UK's largest Vauxhall Tuning companies as well as running one of the UK's largest specialist track and race preparation operations.
Details of how Thorney have tuned and prepared my Corsa to it's current specification can be found on the upgrades page. A lot of the information provided on this website is courtesy of Thorney Motorsport.
On this upgrades page you will find a chronological history of the engine tuning, development, upgrades and improvements carried out.
On the gallery page are photographs you might find interesting, both of the Corsa VXR and Corsa VXR Racing in general as well as specific photographs taken of my own Corsa. I have also started a second photo gallery which shows the various stages of the Astra VXR engine conversion project.
On the for sale page you will find listed items removed from my Corsa which can be purchased from me online.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any comments or questions regarding what you find within this website.
Happy Reading!
